I’ve been wanting to make a pair of crocheted slippers for a while now, and I finally got the chance to sit down and design a pair. I hope you enjoy this free Easy and Cozy Slippers crochet pattern!
They’re speedy to work up in chunky yarn and require only basic crochet skills including working in the round, single crochet, and slip stitches. The cuff is made of front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches, but these stitches can be replace of single crochet stitches if you desire. It will still look nice and cozy.
Quick, easy and cozy crochet slippers also make for great gifts! It’s a practical gift that’s also thoughtful and is sure to make the recipient smile every time they wear them. You could even make some crochet slippers to give away to nursing homes, hospitals or homeless relief programs.
You can make a pair of Easy and Cozy Crochet Slippers in just one hour and a half if you hurry, a little more if your fingers are frozen.
Best Crochet Tips and Tricks
1. To keep balls of yarn from falling out and rolling, put them in a washed, repurposed cylindrical handwipe container. The yarn comes out through the same hole the wipes came through.
The toe section is worked first in the round. Next, the heel is worked in rows.
Right and left slippers are worked identically .
Sizes for the Easy and Cozy Crochet Slippers
Women’s shoe sizes 5/6, 7/8, 9/10.
These slippers can be easily made to accommodate a bigger shoe size by working additional rows of the heel section.
Terminology (US Terms)
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
FPdc – front post double crochet
BPdc – back post double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st – stitch
sp – space
rep – repeat
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc): Yarn over, insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull thru remaining two loops on your hook.
Back Post Double Crochet (bpdc): Yarn over, insert your hook from back to front around the post of the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull thru 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull thru remaining two loops on your hook.

Notes:
• The toe is worked in the round. Slip stitch to the first stitch of the round to join each round. Do not work into the slip stitch from the previous round when you come back around to it.
Make 2 identical pieces.
Crochet Slipper Pattern for size 5/6
Foundation Round: create a magic circle and make 10 sc in the circle. Sl st to first sc of round to join. (10 sc)
Round 1: Ch 1, [1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sl st to first sc of round to join. (15 sc)
Round 2: Ch 1, [1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sl st to first sc of round to join. (20 sc)
Round 3: Ch 1, [1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sl st to first sc of round to join. (25 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc, sl st to first sc of round to join. (25 sc)
Rep Round 4 for 10 times.
HEEL section pattern for the easy crochet slippers
Slip stitch in the next 6 sts and place a stitch marker in the 7th st. After the stitch marker count 11 more sts and place another stitch marker in the 12th st.

Row 1 : Ch 1, sc in marked stitch, sc in each sc between markers, including left marked st; turn. (13)
Be careful not to accidentally work into the sl st from the previous round when working Row 1.
Row 2 : Ch 1, sc in each sc from Row 1; turn. (13)
Rep Row 2 for 10 times.
Fasten off leaving a 15” tail.
Using a tapestry needle and the tail yarn, seam back of heel. Fasten off and weave in any remaining ends.

Round 2: Ch 1, [1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sl st to first sc of round to join. (20 sc)
Round 3: Ch 1, [1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 5 times, sl st to first sc of round to join. (25 sc)
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc, sl st to first sc of round to join. (25 sc)
Rep Round 4 for 11 times.
This section is worked back and forth in rows between markers. Row 1 is worked into the last round of toe section.
Make 2.

The Cuff
Round 1: Work sc sts evenly spaced around the foot opening, sl st to top of first st.
Round 2: ch2 , work dc sts in each st around , sl st to top of first dc.
Round 3: ch2, *1 fpdc around first dc of the previous round, 1 fpdc around first dc of the previous round, repeat from * around, sl st to top of first fpdc.
Round 4: ch2, *1 fpdc around first dc of the previous round, 1 fpdc around first dc of the previous round, repeat from * around, sl st to top of first fpdc.
