  1. Ch 1 at beginning of rounds does NOT count as a st.
  2. Ch 2 at beginning of rounds does NOT count as a st.
  3. Pull slip stitches tight at the end of each round for a more straight seam (I usually won’t work into the slip stitch itself).
  4.  Feel free to use any worsted weight yarn you have in your stash to make these coasters.

Pumpkin coaster pattern

Round 1: Chain 5 with orange yarn. Slip stitch back through the first chain stitch to create a circle.
Round 2: Chain 2. This will not count as your first double crochet in this round. Double crochet 12 more stitches in the center of the circle you made . (12sts)

Round 3: Continue with your orange yarn and chain stitch 2 again. This will not count as your first double crochet in this round. Double crochet into the same stitch, so there are now 2 sts in the same space. Continue to double crochet 2 stitches into each of the remaining sts from the previous round. Join with a slip stitch through the top of the first dc. (24 sts)

Round 4: Chain 2. Work 2 hdc in the first st. Continue to work 2 hdc stitches in each space around. Join with a slip stitch through the top of the first dc. (48 sts)
Round 5: Chain 1. Work 1 sc stitch in each space around. . (48sts)
Cut off your yarn and pull it tight to finish.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Pumpkin’ stem crochet pattern

Join round 5 with a slip stitch through the top of the first sc using the brown yarn. Pull slip stitches tight for a nice finished look.

Chain 2, then work 3 dc sts in the next sts. Chain 2, turn and work another row of 3 dc sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

The pumpkin’s vine crochet pattern

Using green yarn, insert your hook at the base of the first dc st made with brown yarn and work 15 chain sts. Work 2 dc in the second chain from the hook and continue to work 2 dc in each chain.
